Βασισμένη στην εμβληματική εκπομπή «People’s Radio» του YLE (του εθνικού ραδιοτηλεοπτικού δικτύου της Φινλανδίας), αυτή η μικρού μήκους ταινία έχει διαμορφωθεί ως road movie, με εικόνες από ένα ταξίδι στους καλοκαιρινούς δρόμους. Η ταινία παρουσιάζει ένα σημερινό πανόραμα της χώρας μέσα από μια αφήγηση που προχωρά από το χιούμορ στην αστική αναρχία, καταλήγοντας στη λαχτάρα για την ανθρώπινη επαφή. Ένα καρναβαλικό πορτρέτο της φινλανδικής ψυχής και κατοικίας.

Α short film based on the iconic YLE programme “People’s Radio,” with its visual material assembled in the form of a road movie and collected through driving across summary Finland. A panorama of what Finland looks like today, with its narration progressing from humor to civic anarchy, ultimately also towards the longing for human connection. A carnivalesque portrayal of the Finnish landscape of the soul and abode.

Οι επιχειρηματίες έχουν βγάλει κακό όνομα στις μέρες μας. Κάποιοι το αξίζουν. Όμως υπάρχουν και εξαιρέσεις. Η ταινία παρουσιάζει με βλέμμα συμπάθειας δύο διαφορετικές οικογενειακές επιχειρήσεις στη Φινλανδία και δείχνει νέους τρόπους του επιχειρείν (με ή χωρίς κρέας!), αλλά επίσης αντιπαραβάλλει δύο διαφορετικούς τρόπους επιβίωσης στο ευρύτερο πλαίσιο της μεταμοντέρνας, νεοφιλελεύθερης, καπιταλιστικής κοινωνίας.

Entrepreneurs get a bad name nowadays. Some of them deserve it. But there are exceptions to the rule. By portraying two entirely different Finish family enterprises with warmth and sympathy, the film gives an insight into new ways of doing business (with or without meat!), but also juxtaposes two different ways of living and surviving in the broader context of the post-modern neo-liberal capitalist society.
